Synopsis

Guardians of the Galaxy #6 synopsis by Rob Johnson
Rating: 4 stars
Uatu the Watcher watches Angela and Gamora fighting in the Blue Area of the Moon. He's worried because it is impossible for Angela to be in this universe.

Star-Lord Peter Quill has come to ask Thanos what's going on. Thanos tells him that someone on Earth has ripped space and time. This may damage the galaxy, and has surely doomed Earth because the other races of the galaxy will now consider Earth too dangerous to be allowed to continue. Quill responds by shooting at Thanos. There appears to be a large beam of light going past from somewhere. Thanos attacks. And we don't see what happens next.

Back on the moon Angela has Gamora beat. Groot, Rocket Raccoon and Tony Stark in a spare Star-Lord suit (his Iron Man armour is at the menders) have been watching and now come to the rescue. Angela chops Groot into splinters, and Rocket rockets off to catch one so he can regrow his buddy.

Angela's prowess has been bigged up by various characters commenting how easily she's defeated other characters. Now Gamora actually draws blood on Angela, which Uatu declares another impossibility.

Drax arrives and joins in. He appears to KO Angela, but she's soon up and about again. She demonstrates her ability to dodge bullets and rays, sometimes getting them to hit other opponents. Stark gets a lucky shot in, which just angers her.

But then Star-Lord pops up and shoots her in the back of the head with lightning from his element gun. Which is much more effective than he expected, and finally does take Angela down for the count.

Peter thinks he recognises her (though we don't know how or why). The others have already established she's nowhere near as human as she looks. Now the Watcher tells them her name is Angela but won't tell them any more, but in an ominous way.

Review / Commentaries

Guardians of the Galaxy #6 Review by (September 29, 2013)
Olivier Coipel, Mark Morales and Ive Scorcina pinch hit on the art for the Thanos part of this issue. The Blue Area is a place on the far side of the Moon with a breathable atmosphere. It's famous for lots of stuff. The Watcher lives there. So did the Inhumans for a while. The Phoenix version of Jean Grey died there. And long ago the Skrulls built it to hold a competition between the Kree and the Cotati. Space and time were shattered by Wolverine's time-travelling to negate the Age of Ultron. And is this why the Builders want to destroy Earth in the Infinity series?
