Invincible Iron Man #10 Review by (August 12, 2019)
Review: More nice over-the-top action with Tony and Reb against Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo, Hulk versus Abomination, Tony and Reb versus Hydra and several surprises: Madame Hydra dies, Mandarin turns out to be a robot (at least he's not an out of work British actor named Trevor), and the real baddie is that master of the last page reveal: Doctor Doom! Really exciting issue thanks to Terry Shoemaker and Jeph Loeb.

Comments: Doc Samson is revealed to be the Abomination in this. First appearance of Crimson Dynamo and (the present) Titanium Man; first appearance of Terrax in Heroes Reborn. The first appearance of Doctor Doom in a spectacular final page. Oh and Doc Samson's name is spelled “Sampson” in this issue.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Invincible Iron Man #10 Synopsis by Kevin Hollander
Stark and O’Reilly take the fight back to Hydra. They fly to the Forbidden City in China where they are met by the Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo. After a brief battle, they continue on to Hydra's lair.

New York: Jennifer Walters and Bruce Banner meet Dr. Leonard Samson at his office. Sitwell made good on his threat and injected Samson with the gamma virus and transformed him into a grotesque creature. Banner's calculations show that something has to be done soon or else both of them will be dead. He absorbed too much gamma radiation from Avengers' Island and the gamma levels in Samson will soon kill him unless they can find a way to even it out. As Banner prepares for the transfusion, he transforms into the Hulk, leaving only Walters to do the job.

The Iron Men break into Hydra's headquarters. They try to take Madame Hydra alive, but she is killed by the Mandarin for her disobedience. When he turns his attention to Iron Man and Rebel, Iron Man responds in kind. Ultimately this amount of energy discharge kills Iron Man and reveals the Mandarin to be a highly advanced robot - under the control of Dr. Doom.

Doom steps forward and expresses to Rebel that he is behind everything: Hydra, the Mandarin, his resurrection. And now Stark International is vulnerable.
