Marvel's Captain America: the First Avenger Adaptation (2014 series) #2

Captain America is assigned to lead the campaign against Johann Schmidt and Hydra. He recruits his pals the Howling Commandos and is provided with an indestructible shield by Howard Stark. Cap leads his team on a series of raids against the enemy bases until the Red Skull is on the run. On a mission to capture Arnim Zola, Cap and company steal aboard a Nazi train where, after a battle with defenders, Bucky Barnes falls to his (apparent) death. The captive Zola tells Colonel Phillips the Red Skull’s plan to conquer the world. Cap leads the assault on the Red Skull’s headquarters and manages to board the plane taking the Nazi villain on his mission to destroy New York. The Skull is trusting in the tesseract to fuel his fantasies but the cube apparently disintegrates him. Cap, unable to stop the plane loaded with explosives, makes a crash landing in the arctic….

When he revives he knows he is being lied to, and escapes the building only to see modern New York City. Nick Fury informs him that he has been asleep for seventy years….
