Marvel's Thor: The Dark World Prelude #1 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 2 stars

With Thor’s destruction of the Bifrost cutting Asgard off from the Nine Worlds, the balance of power shifts. The Frost Giants, Trolls, Badoon, and Marauders each start scheming against their neighbors, knowing the Aesir are no longer able to protect them…

Odin dispatches Heimdall to warn everyone he can of this new state of affairs while ordering Bifrost to be repaired with all speed. Heimdall assures a worried Thor that Jane Foster is well on Earth….

Meanwhile, Jane is working feverishly to reopen the wormhole from her side, thus reuniting her with her beloved Thor. The experiments fail….

Queen Freyja, reaching out with her mind, discovers that Loki is alive in Chitauri space—and he is planning something involving the tesseract. True, he appears on Earth at the SHIELD base where he seizes the Cosmic Cube and leaves….

SHIELD sends Jane Foster to Norway for her own protection while Odin summons the Dark Magic to transport Thor to Midgard to stop his wicked brother. Loki declares his dominion in Germany; the Avengers (specifically Captain America and Iron Man) confront him. Meanwhile, Thor crashes unconscious to the Earth….

Review / Commentaries

Marvel's Thor: The Dark World Prelude #1 Review by (June 7, 2013)
Review: What a waste of time and money. This issue, designed to prepare us for the upcoming THOR: THE DARK WORLD is merely a rehash of the end of THOR and the beginning of AVENGERS. No new information is given, the story isn’t told in a particularly interesting way, and the art, while not bad, is hurt by having to slavishly copy actors’ faces. Just another attempt to wring a few bucks out of gullible readers (like me). At least I can justify the expense by warning the rest of you (someone is reading this, right?). Feh and double feh. I hope the second at least tells us something about the new villain but I’m not getting my hopes up.
