Synopsis

Maximum Security: Dangerous Planet #1 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4.5 stars

After Professor X creates a team of mutant Skrull heroes called Cadre K to battle their own kind, the Skrulls appeal to the Intergalactic Council to punish Earth for their constant interference, a sentiment echoed among many races who have dealt with Earth’s superheroes. Council leader Lilandra of the Shi’ar tables a vote in order to welcome the Ruul, a new race petitioning for admission to the Council. Then word comes that Ego the Living Planet is on a rampage though the galaxy, searching for another sentient world and destroying planets which fall short. All attempts to stop Ego fail until Professor X and Cadre K, joined by the Silver Surfer, manage to channel enough psychic energy to put Ego into a coma. The assembled races, motivated by fear, jealousy, ingratitude, and host of other hostile emotions, call for action against Earth. Lilandra considers appealing to the Time-Keepers to intervene but when she learns that they have been slain by Kang, an Earth villain, she inadvertently casts the final vote against Earth. The Ruul propose an alternative to invasion….

Plus, Gladiator, Kree, Badoon.

Review / Commentaries

Maximum Security: Dangerous Planet #1 Review by (June 16, 2020)
Review: A nice, complicated, multi-race sci-fi epic, even if it is fairly limited. Just the way I like 'em.

Comments: Prelude to the three-part miniseries MAXIMUM SECURITY. First appearance of Cadre K and the Ruul. Kang’s murder of the Time-Keepers happened in AVENGERS FOREVER #12. Inks by Will Blyberg and Paul Ryan.
