One World Under Doom (2025 series) #8

All the heroes of the world have banded together against Doctor Doom…and they are losing. Valeria and Franklin Richards are watching on television and Valeria decides she needs to talk with Doom, her godfather, to get him to stop the war against her parents, among others. So she invents a signal transmitter that would resonate with Doom’s armor, and she sends the message “V.” And he responds, drawing Val into the Mindscape. She is the only one he trusts anymore and she asks where this will all end and she appeals to him to stop. He explains that victory always has a cost. She point out that at the beginning he tried to gain consent but now it has turned into coercion. He deflects the question and notes that his enemies are only violent minority and he sends her back, cutting short their conversation….

Meanwhile, the battle continues in Latveria, Maria Hill coordinating tactics among the diverse heroes. Storm and Human Torch combine their powers to create a fire hurricane. Others try their own powers in innovative combinations. Doom shuts them all down with a magic blast. With a snap he removes the powers from every mutant on the battlefield, noting that it is temporary, their powers will return once they depart. Squirrel Girl clutches at Doom’s leg, asking him to stop—then revealing she is only a distraction from the real attack. All of the energy-based heroes are projecting it into Beta Ray Bill’s hammer Stormbreaker and Thing wields it to smack Doom into the distance. But Doom returns and focuses all of his powers into his armor and then causes it to explode into many shards, each one piercing one of his opponents, painful but not fatal. And then Doom discovers Valeria was on the field of battle and has been gravely injured….
