Synopsis

Red Hulk (2025 series) #5 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

A nuke in Latveria has empowered General Thunderbolt Ross to transform into Red Hulk once again. As hordes of Doombots attack him, Red Hulk smashes and smashes and smashes in an orgy of violence. Deathlok, watching from a safe vantage point, is stunned by the sight. Machine Man contacts the US Air Force, given their identities and requesting extraction. The Air Force gives them coordinates over the border as a Doombot arrives and subdues the two. But Machine Man stretches out an arm and seizes the Doombot’s face, draws a load of power from it and returns it, burning out their foe. They inform Rulk of the plan and the trio sets out for the border….

When they arrive they see several USAF copters and a giant craft they do not recognize. A Colonel steps out to speak to Rulk, requesting that he transform back to Ross. Rulk, who suspects this is not a rescue mission, demands that the Colonel speak his piece. He informs Ross that he is in violation of the treaty between the United States and Latveria. Rulk then calls the Air Force an enemy of the state for allying with Doom, declaring himself at war with the whole world. He starts smashing helicopters but the big scary craft turns out to be a Hulkbuster; it fires, disrupting Ross’ gamma and he returns to normal. Ross is then arrested for treason….

Review / Commentaries

Red Hulk (2025 series) #5 Review by (June 4, 2025)

Review: Last issue’s review equally applies to this issue, an old-timey serial, with the heroes in danger and escaping for a big adrenaline rush. This episode doesn’t end on a victorious note like the last one but gives us a big cliffhanger. Wooo!

Comments: Bannered “ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM” as a tie-in to that event.
