The Siege of Asgard - Intercepted

Synopsis

Siege #3 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3 stars
At the White House, the President orders the military to Oklahoma to put an end to the siege of Asgard and arrest Norman Osborn. But the Avengers and their allies have already arrived on the scene—as Captain America’s shield hits Osborne in the face with a resounding "Clang!" Cap’s and Nick Fury’s teams aid the embattled Aesir against their foes, when suddenly the Hood enters the fray with his own team of supervillains. Meanwhile, in nearby Broxton, Thor and Maria Hill have been discovered by the Sentry—who proves to be impervious to the Thunder God’s most powerful attacks. Hill keeps guard over the wounded Tony Stark, as Speed of the Young Avengers delivers the case Jarvis sent on the mission. Watching from the White House War Room, the general in command orders his troops to take down HAMMER—and jets fire upon the villains’ Helicarrier. Cap and Osborn are locked in combat when the madman’s Iron Patriot armor is shut down—by Iron Man who has entered the field. Helpless, Osborn commands the Sentry to destroy Asgard—which the insane superbeing does, shattering the buildings with a series of piercing attacks until the foundations crumble and the towers fall. Under arrest, Osborn is stripped of his armor, revealing that he is wearing Green Goblin facepaint under the helmet. The raving supervillain tells the assembled heroes that he was the only one who could control the Sentry—and in the skies overhead, the Sentry is transforming into the all-powerful, malevolent Void….
