Synopsis

The Defenders #8 synopsis by Julio M2
Rating: 5 stars

Hulk, Doctor Strange and the Sub-Mariner show up in Trellnax-3, an exo planet where the Silver Surfer was last seen. Disguised with a spell, the Defenders walk the area looking for the cosmic voyager and enter a tavern. Hulk sees Toad Men and starts a brawl. Doctor Strange loses his cool and prepares to fight Green Skin, but Namor intercedes. The Toad Men say Kree forces had captured the Silver Surfer. Suddenly, Kree battle ships attack the civilians.

The Defenders ally with the Toad Men in fighting the Kree. Hulk destroys a vast number of battleships just to prove he can do better than the Sub-Mariner. The Toad Men praise him. Enemies turned friends Hulk is happy to be fighting along the “Ugly-Men”.

Fearing defeat, the Kree uses a weapon called Starwheel against the Defenders. The cosmic power of the Silver Surfer fuels that weapon!

The Defenders end up locked in strength-sapping spheres. The incredible Hulk breaks free, causing an overload that destroys the ship.

Back in the tavern, the Silver Surfer thanks the Hulk; the Toad Men praise him too. The Defenders realize the curse can’t bring them together if they are far away from Earth. But the Sub-Mariner is in a rush to return to Atlantis, still under the tyrant Attuma. Hulk prefers staying with his newfound friends and they argue. Unnoticed, a strange individual watches them (is he Nebulon?). He plans using them for some evil scheme.

Doctor Strange casts a communication spell to chat with the Defenders on Earth and learns from Hellcat that the Headmen took over the world! It’s not much Valkyrie (Samantha Parrington) and Nighthawk can do to resolve that.
