Uncanny X-Men Annual (2006 series) #3 Review by (July 31, 2013)
Review, Part One: The X-Men and Captain America (even the retired one) make for an odd team-up and James Asmus delivers a comic epic full of fast paced action and constant comic bickering among the heroes. It takes a while for the comedy to settle in—in part one it seems like all the characters genuinely hate each other—but Steve Rogers arrives in part two to bring out the best (sort of) in them. The art is wildly uneven, resulting from the decision to have the three installments drawn by different artists with widely varying styles. This issue features Nick Bradshaw, whose manga-inspired art gives everyone goofy triangular faces with small mouths and huge chins. It’s distracting but it fits better with the tone than that of subsequent issues’ artists.

Comments: Steve Rogers, a major character in this team-up miniseries does not appear until next issue.
