Heimdall finds Daredevil brooding over
the power he had as the God without Fear and wanting to hold onto the
sword for just a little longer. Heimdall praises his performance as a
god though DD is skeptical. He wishes he could have retained the
omniscience so as to see how everything turned out after the war.
Heimdall raises the sword and offers to take DD to have a look
together....
“The Job I Have to Do”

Synopsis: Dr. Jane Foster visits the
morgue where the bodies of the slaughtered Valkyries lie. Her friend
Lisa Halloran looks in on her and Jane shows her the bracelet that
was the War Thor's hammer that shattered and became a part of her.
Thor enters on his mission to bear his people to their rest but there
is no more Valhalla; Jane realizes that Thor is despondent over
having lost his faith as well as his friends. The spirit of
Brunnhilde rises and asks Jane if she would accept the task of taking
their place; Jane agrees and is transformed into a new Valkyrie....
“Born Small”

Synopsis: In Jotunheim, a band of
Frost Giants grouse about Loki becoming their new king. They chase
the mischievous dwarf Frost Giant Drrf and they encounter Loki. The
God of Mischief befriends the tiny giant, warning him that some
people can't tell fun from mischief. The other giants arrive and
though they recognize Loki as their king they demand to punish Drrf.
Loki casts a spell to protect them but Drrf, a pacifist, interferes
with the result that Drrf is transformed into the largest of the
Frost Giants. The others depart and Drrf returns to his normal size
and becomes Loki's right-hand man....
“War Orphans”

Synopsis: In the ruins of New York,
Punisher comes upon a group of people looting a supermarket; he tells
them to put it all back and uses a flamethrower to roast a dead giant
for them. Moving on he faces a giant hound and calmly blows its head
off. He finds a bunch of Asgardians drinking in a bar and shoots a
glass out of one reveler's hand. Thor arrives and tells the guys that
the time for feasting is not yet, the dead must be buried first. Thor
offers help to Frank but he heads off to a meeting at dawn. In a
cemetery he meets a man named Jones and tells him that the monster
who killed his wife and child got away but he will continue to hunt
it down. Jones introduces him to a band of orphans whose families
were killed by monsters—and Frank is a monster hunter....
Epilogue: Having shown Daredevil the
war's aftermath, Heimdall presents him with a pair of fighting sticks
carved from Yggdrasil to remind him that he was once the God without
Fear. They hear a cry for help from a mugging victim not far away and
they act together for Midgard....
