In the Captain America museum exhibit after the hero’s death in the Civil War, Wolverine continues to remember his first meeting with Cap….
In the North African desert, he was following Cap who was pursuing Bucky Barnes on his top-secret mission to assassinate Baron Strucker. Arriving at the villain’s compound, Logan linked up with Cap and they made their way to that auditorium where Strucker was addressing a gathering of his secret organization—Hydra. The captive Bucky is brought in to be executed before the gathering, but Logan sees in his eyes that this is is plan. Bucky, his hands bound, swiftly turns and kills Strucker using only his feet. As the enraged Hydra hordes charge the platform, Cap and Logan wade in to rescue the hero’s sidekick. Nick Fury and the SAS arrive and make short work of the baddies, then Fury discovers from the eye-color that his Baron Strucker is a fake, a double used to protect the real mastermind. The good guys divide into two groups, with Logan and Bucky choosing one another. This was so Wolverine could question Bucky about Cap—and so Bucky could eliminate Logan for asking too many questions. But Logan is the best at what he does and he overpowers Bucky, leaving him unconscious in a hallway. Logan then sniffs out Strucker in a hidden office. The Nazi villain has a phone call for him; it is Seraph, telling him that and agreement has been made—he is now assigned to kill Captain America and Bucky….
In the present, Wolverine still regrets what happened next….
