Synopsis

Avengers: X-Sanction #4 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3 stars

After Wolverine and Spider-Man mop up the Lethal Legion they turn the baddies over to the New Avengers for clean-up (which ain’t in their job description) and go looking for their missing teammates. Wolverine knows it’s a trap as the prison transport was shot down to distract the heroes. Now Logan is in battle with Cable and is pulling no punches. A concerned Hope Summers snatches up the giant gun to hold off Spidey and Cyclops is wounded in the crossfire. Cyke blasts Spidey out of the ship and tells Hope to free the captive Avengers. She draws on he instinctive knowledge of her father’s devious mind to disarm the booby-trapped inhibitor chairs. Suddenly Iron Man, Captain America, and the Falcon are beating on Cable and after a moment to allow his gamma body heat to burn out the techno-organic virus, Red Hulk joins in as well. Cyclops asks to take his defeated and dying son home; all Cap asks is to take custody of the future technology….

Back at Utopia (X-Men headquarters), Cable is about to succumb to the effects of the virus. Suddenly Hope manifests the Phoenix Force and heals him….

On the Astral Plane, Scott and Nathan are concerned about the implications of the discovery that Hope is the mutant messiah and what that means for a conflict with the Avengers….

Review: See full review at issue #1.

Comments: Lethal Legion is seen only in a brief cameo. Cable found the anti-mutant tech in Avengers Mansion in the future; the Avengers confiscate it from Cable in the present and put it in the Mansion; so where did it come from originally?
