Synopsis

Fantastic Four (1961 series) #370 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3 stars

With the Infinity Gauntlet in his possession, the Magus proclaims his triumph to the captive Adam Warlock....

Outside, the heroes are engaged in the deadly conflict against their doppelgangers, with Ben questioning Johnny’s ruthless approach to defeating the enemy creatures. Sue enters the Magus’ sprawling citadel and comes upon Thanos locked in combat against his evil twin. She lends a force beam to aid the one she thinks is the real Thanos then moves on. Deeper into the stronghold she finds the heroes who have been captured and replaced on Earth, including Reed. She frees them, and as they try to escape, the Magus appears and traps all the heroes, including Galactus, in his trophy room. Thanos and Warlock battle the Magus for the fate of the universe and an energy blast frees the heroes from the trophy room but scatters them though space. Reality starts to warp from the clash of the titans and Galactus summons his ship to rescue them all. A cosmic explosion—then the heroes find themselves back on Earth....

At the ruined Four Freedoms Plaza, Sue bitterly accuses Reed of being the weak link on the team—the only one defeated by his doppelganger. She walks out in disgust at his failure as the three men stand in shock. Johnny flies off to see the world’s inhabitants awakening from their temporary stasis. As Reed watches Sue with Franklin, he begins to question his abilities and leadership qualities but Ben rushes in to announce that Alicia has been kidnapped....

Out in deep space, Power Skrull and Devos have succeeded in resurrecting Lyja—with vengeance in her mind….
