Guardians Of The Galaxy #11 Review by (November 23, 2019)
Moondragon (Heather Douglas) was the daughter of Arthur Douglas who was turned into Drax. Art and Drax were separated in Infinity Wars: Fallen Guardian. The fact that this Heather is from an alternate timeline is irrelevant because she is the daughter of *some* version of Arthur.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Guardians Of The Galaxy #11 Synopsis by Rob Johnson
Star-Lord's father J'son is Patriarch of the new Universal Church Of Truth. He's captured and mind-controlled most of the Guardians Of The Galaxy, but he's left his son Peter Quill free of mind-control hoping to convince him their cause is right. They have Drax The Destroyer and an army of clones of him and they intend to kill Death. Groot and Moondragon remain free along with dying Rocket Raccoon kept alive by a mech-suit, and they've recruited the Magus (who used to lead the Church) reborn as a young boy. The free Guardians have just crashed their spaceship Bowie into the Temple-Destroyer Cathedral.

Rocket strides in mech-suit guns a'blazing but is stunned to see he faces an army of his friend Drax, too many for Magus to control. Moondragon reads the mind of the lead Drax and is satisfied that her father Arthur Douglas isn't in there. Then she unleashes the Dragon Of The Moon on them. Quill finds Groot and they update each other. Peter says they've got to free the other Guardians. J'son gives orders to some Black Knights of the Church but Magus mind-controls them and they shoot at their boss. Rocket tells Groot and Star-Lord to take the opportunity to go find their teammates.

Unfortunately they discover all the cells open and empty. Magus is about to kill the Patriarch when he is blasted from behind by Gamora at the head of an army of other 'converted' heroes. There's the other Guardians Beta Ray Bill (carrying unconscious Groot and Star-Lord), Captain Marvel (Phyla-Vell) and Lockjaw along with previous members Bug, Cosmo, Major Victory and Mantis. The others include the Starjammers plus Darkhawk, Firelord, Nebula, Quasar and Terrax. And they all shoot at the young Magus. His shields hold but Lockjaw teleports Phyla-Vell behind him and she takes him down. Moondragon reluctantly goes after her lover PV but Gamora disperses the Dragon Of The Moon leaving Heather Douglas vulnerable to the mob. Beta Ray Bill's flung Stormbreaker shatters Rocket's armour/life-support. And it all seems over.

J'son orders Groot, Magus and Moondragon taken away to be converted. He shows Peter that the Cathedral is nearing Earth where he intends to feed the population into the ship's life engines (it is powered by their subjugated wills). Star-Lord and the others, starting with his love Gamora, will also become fodder.

The Patriarch ignored the dying Rocket Raccoon. He also probably doesn't know about the bunch of mini-Groots who now rush in shouting their name/mantra Stab. They prize Rocket free of his mech-wreckage and give him his trademark big gun. And he staggers off to save the day, dragging the gun behind him.
