Alias #1 Review by (September 26, 2011)
Comments: First appearance of Jessica Jones, who would go on to bigger things for Marvel. First publication in the MAX Comics line, with more graphic sex, violence, and profanity. This is the issue with the controversial sex scene, further into detail I will not go.

Alias #1 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Private investigator Jessica Jones, in her office at Alias Investigations, has presented a client with photographic evidence that his wife is a mutant. The man takes it badly, progressing from cursing and bitterness, to insulting Jessica, then assaulting her. She responds by hurling him through the window of her office door. When the police arrive, they discover that Jessica is the former superhero Jewel; she is guarded and dismissive of her past and the visit ends badly. Later at a bar, she encounters Luke Cage and they have a drunken one-night stand.

Going to her office the next morning, she finds a client waiting for her, a stylishly dressed woman who wants Jessica to find her missing sister. The sister, Miranda, met a man she fell for and soon after that she cut off all contact with her family and now the client is worried and wants Jessica to find her and see if she is all right. Jessica finds an address on the internet and stakes out the house that evening with a video camera. Miranda receives a visit from a large handsome man. At two AM his beeper goes off and he leaves. Jessica is puzzled when the man does not leave by the front door. She looks up to the roof to see the man standing there; he changes into Captain America and races away over the rooftops. And Jessica has his unmasked identity on tape….
