Trapped in a dark sewer, Nomad (Ian Rogers) fights off
terrified crows as the Scarecrow taunts him while jabbing him with a knife to
bring out his fear. Nomad lures the fiend close enough to bash with his horde
crusher then he runs off into the dark….
Hunting for this partner in the endless sewers, Captain America
(Sam Wilson) senses the presence of crows but they don’t seem to lead him
anywhere. Just as his radio link to Steve Rogers breaks down, Cap discovers a
hidden tribe of children who have made themselves a refuge and a home in the
sewer system. The group’s leader, a teen girl named Shea, doesn’t trust Cap at
first, until he promises that he won’t try to “help” them by taking them away.
The kids fear the Scarecrow who catches the kids and plays with their minds. But
the villain knows where they are and floods the area with fear gas….
Elsewhere, Nomad has come upon the kids too and they help
him escape from the deadly crows, taking refuge in an abandoned subway car. The
kids show that the car still runs and they head out through the tunnels….
Cap tries to lead the kids to safety but it is difficult to
find his way out. He gives his gas mask to Shea and tries to hold his breath
but he eventually inhales some of the fear gas. They are chased by several
kids, mad from the effects of the gas, until they barricade themselves in an
enclosed part of the tunnels. Nomad arrives on the train and links up with Cap.
The murder of crows arrives and all of a sudden Captain America is afraid….
