Amazing Adventures (1970 series) #17 Review by (November 3, 2026)

Comments: Due to a deadline problem with the first installment of KILLRAVEN/WAR OF THE WORLDS, this story was hastily cobbled together to fill the issue. A single unified story was composed out of edited versions of the back-up stories in X-MEN (1963) #49-53 with new framing pages (page 1 and page 20). Last Beast appearance in AMAZING ADVENTURES; Beast's next appearance is in THE INCREDIBLE HULK (1968) #161. Main credits are for the framing device. Jim Starlin's name is misspelled as "Starling" in credits.

For the reprinted material: Writer: Arnold Drake, Penciler: Werner Roth, Inker: John Verpoorten, Colorist: Unknown, Letterer: Irving Watanabe. The ones who did the real hard work.

Review: Nicely organized set of reprints and done in an emergency too. More detailed review will be found (someday) with the originals.
