Trapped in the distorted Nine Worlds, Thor faces Hela, Goddess of Death and her undead minions in battle. The lightning can be seen for miles—and Tony Stark, captive of Fafnir and his ogres, warns his enemies of what is to come. The ogres, terrified at the prospect of the God of Thunder returned in judgment, seek to free Tony but Fafnir knows they have nothing to lose now. But the dragon ends up having to fight his rebellious minions and in the confusion an ogre frees Tony and he escapes, naked, on a stolen horse. The giant monster pursues him through the dank woods, breathing fire and leveling the trees. Suddenly, Steve Rogers appears and launches himself at Fafnir, taking the dragon down; Fafnir then morphs back into his original form of a wizened old man, confusing Steve and Tony. Surrounded by ogres, Steve challenges them to battle, and they flee. They recover Tony’s unpowered armor and go in search of Thor. In the palace in Vannahiem, Hela strikes down the Thunder God, the flash of the blow leading Tony and Steve in the proper direction. They come upon the fallen body of their fellow Avenger and are surprised that his hammer Mjolnir is nowhere to be found. Steve knows where they can find help for Thor….
In the elven village, Thor recovers without the Lady Magreth’s healing aid. He tells his comrades of the ascendancy of Hela and her capture of Mjolnir; the last thing he recalls is Hela in battle with Amora, the Enchantress. Thor fears that they have died and this is the punishment for all their sins….
