Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Story continued from CAPTAIN AMERICA #440.

Boca Caliente: a boy and a dog fleeing from A.I.M. guard and come upon a suit of blue armor and nearby they find Captain America. Cap, no longer paralyzed, spies the boy and the dog—and also his long-dead (or so everyone thought) companion Bucky Barnes....

Elsewhere on the island, the Avengers have arrived and they make short work of the guards, discovering they are all Adaptoids. As Black Widow starts to set out to find Cap, Hercules, speaking for the team, wants to know what this is all about. Natasha explains that the energy spikes indicate that A.I.M. is trying to recreate their deadliest weapon, the Cosmic Cube. Moments later they come upon a Gypsy camp where Quicksilver is greeted by his long-dead father. To everyone's alarm Hercules flies into a rage, Natasha realizing he is afraid he will summon up his lost love Taylor....

The Red Skull enters the A.I.M. complex to confront their leader Brannex....

Free Spirit and Jack Flag allow themselves to be defeated by the Adaptoid guards, as a ruse to get into the complex....

Cap and Bucky search for the missing Falcon and find him, lying at the bottom of a cliff. An explosion knocks them off their feet as the resurrected MODOK rises into view....

Story continues in CAPTAIN AMERICA #441.
