An issue centering on Joaquin Torres,
the new Falcon, has Captain America (Sam Wilson) introducing him (to
remind the readers who he is) before going into the plot....
Right-wing/anti-Sam Cap TV host Harry
Hauser has as guest Ariella Connor, who has written a strongly
conservative book on illegal immigration. During the interview she
bashes Sam Cap and singles out the new Falcon as an example of a
law-breaking illegal. Joaquin is incensed at her remarks and when he
learns that she is speaking that night at Empire State University, he
is determined to complain to her face. This, of course, is against
Sam's advice. On his way downtown he runs into Rage and persuades him
to join the mission. Arriving at the college, they find a crowd of
protesters outside....
Sneaking in through a back door,
Joaquin heads for the stage to confront Ariella Connor. At this
point, a bomb is thrown at Connor and Joaquin throws himself on her
for protection. The grenade came from the Bombshells, a left-wing
terrorist group wanting to kill Connor for her views. Falcon and Rage
defeat the baddies and Cap arrives, praising their efforts. But
Ariella Connor condemns them on her newscast, ignoring Falcon saving
her life. Joaquin is mad at Connor and at Cap who seems to want him
to appreciate Cap's position now. Joaquin leaves but Sam asks Rage to
stay behind a moment. Sam tells Rage about learning to compromise
with age and thanks him for pushing him into a confrontation with the
Americops....
On the way home, Rage comes upon Speed
Demon and Man Mountain Marko robbing a pawn shop and fights them.
Suddenly the baddies take off, leaving Rage to be arrested by the
Americops....
