Synopsis

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #13 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

Continued from CAPTAIN AMERICA: SENTINEL OF LIBERTY #12.

Passing through the portal to Dimension Z, the heroes (Captain America Sam Wilson, Captain America Steve Rogers, Misty Knight, Sharon Carter) are met by a bomb, which explodes, seriously injuring Sharon and Misty. Steve Cap is determined to rescue Ian so he walks directly toward the citadel, ignoring his teammates. Sam Cap stops him, saying they need to regroup and recover but Steve won’t have it. He hits Sam, saying he needs to rescue Ian, which he claims is their mission. Sam reminds him that the mission is to stop Bucky and White Wolf. A fight ensues, with Steve lecturing Sam on the importance of family. Sam reminds him that he (Sam) saw his parents die and if Steve’s personal mission interferes with the official mission, Steve has no right to call himself Captain America. Sam punches Steve, knocking him off a cliff and into an explosion. He then returns to Sharon and Misty with a sad look on his face…

Ian Rogers has witnessed this, freed from his cell for this purpose. Black Widow, challenged by Bucky Barnes to watch that he doesn’t go full villain, observes from the side. And the White Wolf unleashes his monsters on the remaining heroes….

Review / Commentaries

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #13 Review by (May 31, 2023)

Review: And so, as required by every crossover, the two heroes fight and argue while fighting. Steve Cap’s PTSD or something kicks in and there a nasty issue-length battle that ends with Steve Cap’s apparent death (hey, part 5 is in his book so he’d better be okay). Familiar territory and it doesn’t advance the plot, another bad habit of crossovers.

Comments:Cold War” Part 4 of 6.
