Captain America: Symbol of Truth #11 Review by (March 15, 2023)

Review: The story arc wraps up in a satisfying manner with Sam Cap beating up the bad guy and, by extension, his philosophy. Another showcase for colorist Jesus Aburtov as the bulk of the issue is played out against a backdrop of flames.

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #11 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Captain America finds White Wolf waiting for him on the steps of the parliament building; he tells Nomad to stand down as the villain is his target alone. They battle with White Wolf using cloaking technology to dash around Cap unseen until he strikes. As the fight, WW airs his grievances about being rejected as ruler by Wakanda and how Cap’s dream of a racially integrated nation is an illusion and that Cap will be rejected as he was. Cap beats him senseless and has to be restrained from killing him by Nomad. Cap asks why he shouldn’t kill him for what he’s done to Wakanda and Falcon. Dr. Ayanda Sisulu, leader of the resistance, arrives with Bathabile, and Tilda (Nightshade) Johnson, and tells him “Because you hold the shield.” She vows to rebuild the nation as the resistance military forces arrive. Sam sees Falcon put in an ambulance and taken to the hospital….

Back in Harlem, Sam and Misty Knight sit on a rooftop, watching a parade in support of the new government in Mohannda and Misty admits for the first time that they are dating….

Later at the parade, Ian tells Sam that it’s time he contacted his dad, Steve Rogers….

Story continues in CAPTAIN AMERICA: COLD WAR ALPHA #1.
