Army Private Steve Rogers and camp mascot James Barnes go to the movies where the youngster thrills to newsreel exploits of Captain America. Cap gives him a costume and he christens himself “Bucky.” For their first mission as a team they take out a gang of Nazi saboteurs sneaking into the country. Bucky’s reckless enthusiasm nearly gets them killed; Cap rebukes him and Bucky promises to do better. In the present Cap wonders if he went too far—or not far enough—then Bucky might still be alive….
