Synopsis
This issue begins with a terrific battle between Galactus and Tyrant equalling his size. Entire galaxies are destroyed as Tyrant damages the Big G, but Galactus fights back and has Tyrant at his mercy. We then learn that this is a historical scene being viewed by Thanos in Tyrant's computer files. But he still doesn't know why the duo are such sworn enemies until he gets it to show him the earliest known data on the foe. Then he gets the computer to tell him the whereabouts of the containment device holding the cosmic energy taken from Morg and he goes and steals it.
Last issue Thanos led Ganymede and Terrax into Tyrant's space-fortress. Jack Of Hearts and Legacy followed them to rescue Ganymede from Thanos' clutches. At the end of the issue Tyrant confronted them. Now the 4 realise that the Titan has left them to face the foe alone. They combine forces, and cocky young Legacy tries a frontal assault only to get beaten up for his pains. The baddie taunts JOH that he's the only 1 who might possibly harm him but he daren't unleash all his energy because it would kill him. Jack contents himself by just blasting and power-punching, but Tyrant smashes *him* to pulp too. He begs his companion Ganymede for help but she ignores him in favour of her sworn Sisterhood duty kill the bad guy. When Terrax attacks, Tyrant remarks that he like Morg has the smell of the Maker on him before he blasts him into submission too. Now only Ganymede is left standing but she reminds him that her Sisterhood drove him from the Galaxy long ago.
Then Thanos rejoins them to say that isn't exactly true. He has learned that it was Galactus who actually drove him away. And it was in the early days of the universe that Galactus *created* Tyrant as his equal for unknown reasons. But where Big G was content to feed off the energy of planets his 'son' wanted to conquer and rule them. Tyrant revolted against his father, but as we saw at the beginning Galactus prevailed and shrank his son in power and size to the more humanoid version we know. Ganymede begs Thanos to share his new knowledge to enable them to kill the enemy but he bats her aside because he wants to face Tyrant alone.
He tells Tyrant that he intends to take the container of Morg power unless Tyrant can stop him. This whole exercise was designed to culminate in this single combat so that he could prove the mightier. Tyrant threatens him with death but the Titan says Death has already rejected him. And Tyrant feels the power of his blast and is impressed. But he seems to gain the upper hand until Thanos uses the Morg-power against him.
Meanwhile Legacy revives and tries to persuade Terrax to join him in helping Thanos. But the ex-Herald Of Galactus says that Thanos deserted *them* so now they should repay the favour. Legacy agrees but only if they take unconscious Jack and Ganymede with them. They flee to Thanos' spaceship Demeter and fly away.
The brutal battle continues unabated. Tyrant explosively destroys a large amount of his fortress, and seemingly Thanos with it. But the Titan emerges from the rubble. However he claims that Tyrant's inability to kill him plus the Morg-power sphere he has taken is enough of a victory for him. And he teleports away to his home 'farm' ...
... where he begins to study the pilfered containment unit. Thanos is content.
But back at the fortress we see that Tyrant has loads of these containment units, and an even bigger 1.
