Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Defenders, The #1 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
Patsy Walker, a.k.a. Hellcat, feels sorry for a bump that is laying on the streets and takes him to a restaurant. But, this man is no one but Yandroth, fatal enemy of the Defenders! By building up power, he manages to lock Patsy down. Then, by using the power of Gaea, he casts spells to flood this planet with the worst villains. Thus, the world is rapidly infested with evil creatures like the Toad Men and the Night Crawler with his troops from the Negative Zone. The superheroes, like the Avengers and the FF, respond to this worldwide threat. But there's too much for just them. The world has need of more defending power. A power like the one from the most unique and powerful group the world has ever had to fight evil. After breaking from her chains, Hellcat contacts Kyle Richmond, Nighthawk, for help. And the millionaire's mystic advisor casts a spell to gather the original Defenders, sending them to fight the problem's root, Yandroth! After so many years, the Savage Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Sub-Mariner and the Silver Surfer gather again to fight for Earth! But Yandroth calls in the Ravagers of Creation, four ultra powerful monsters that seem even too powerful for the Defenders themselves! After loosing the first fight, the Hulk reaches his opponent for a second round. The Master of the Mystic Arts comes up with a plan and asks the other Defenders to attack the same monster. The other three Ravagers gather in a circle to connect mystically. But since the forth was absent, the meeting fails causing the evil group to vanish unexpectedly. Few seconds later, the last monster also disappears. This situation hurts Yandroth, who falls down and seemingly dies. But before dying, he's able to curse the Defenders. After Gaea is freed, Hulk, Namor and the cosmic voyager decide to leave. Left alone, Strange and Hellcat wonder about the magnitude of Yandroth's curse. Special guests: Val, Wong, Alicia Masters, Namorita, Gorgilla, Mindless Ones.
