Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Defenders, The #8 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
Hulk, Doctor Strange and the Sub-Mariner show up in Trellnax-3, an alien planet where the Silver Surfer was last seen. Disguised with a spell, the Defenders walk the area looking for the cosmic voyager until they enter a tavern. Hulk sees Toad Men in it and starts the brawl. Doctor Strange looses his patience and is about to fight Green Skin. But Namor (!) calms them down and lets the Toad Men explain how Kree forces captured the Silver Surfer. Suddenly, Kree battle ships attack the population. The Defenders ally with the Toad Men to fight the menace. Hulk destroys an incredible amount of battle ships to prove he can do better than the Sub-Mariner. And the Toad Men start praising him. Enemy turned friend, Hulk is now glad he's fighting along the "Ugly-Men". Fearing defeat, the Kree uses the Starwheel against the Defenders. And to their surprise, the powerful flying weapon is fed by the power cosmic of the Silver Surfer! The ultimate machine locks the Defenders in strength sapping spheres they can't break free from. Well, "they" did not include Hulk for long. The incredible Hulk grows his savage strength and breaks the sphere, causing an overload that destroys the ship. Back in the tavern, Hulk is thanked by the Silver Surfer and is praised by the Toad Men. The Defenders realize that the curse can't bring them together if they are far away from Earth. But the Sub-Mariner is in rush to return to Atlantis and save it from the tyrant Attuma. Hulk wants to stay with his new friends and they start discussing. Unnoticed, the group is being watched by a strange individual (Nebulon?) who thinks of using them in his evil plans. And Doctor Strange casts a communication spell to chat with the other Defenders and finds out from Hellcat that the Headmen have taken over the world while Valkyrie and Nighthawk can't do much about it either.
