Aboard the hijacked Helicarrier Prometheus, Wolverine
is engaged in battle with S.T.R.I.K.E. members Brom and Croydon. Logan
challenges the blue-skinned Brom to single combat and the braggart accepts,
throwing his gun away, against Croydon’s advice, and attacks Logan with only
his electrified sword. They clash….
At Avengers Tower, Melita Garner is researching S.T.R.I.K.E.
and contacts Pete Wisdom, British security agent, for more info. She shows him
a picture of Sutton, leader of the S.T.R.I.K.E. team and Wisdom gives as full
an account as possible, even mentioning he was part of Project Blackbox, an
operation designed to create super agents which left some participants mentally
deranged….
As Brom and Logan fight, Croydon, a telepath, looks into
Logan’s brain and he is attacked mentally by Logan, leaving him in shock.
Logan, in a hurry, dashes out of the room, locking the door behind him….
On the bridge, Sutton boasts to teammates Harrow and Bexley
about his dream of a giant hammer, inspiring him. The other two grow concerned
at the implication that Sutton is working on his own and press him to attribute
his actions to his S.T.R.I.K.E. superiors, which he does. Harrow leaves to
check on Brom and Croydon….
Melita Garner walks the streets of New York, witnessing
panic but also people trying to help one another, reporting it all on social
media. She comes upon a gang of looters and uses a neural disruptor given to
her by Logan to halt the madness. She continues in the direction of the Prometheus….
Wolverine reaches the communications room and finds it
destroyed, no chance of calling for help. Then Harrow, Brom, and Croydon
arrives, weapons blazing. Back on the bridge, Bexley discovers that
communications are cut off, meaning Sutton has been lying about receiving
instructions from “superiors” at S.T.R.I.K.E. Logan puts up a good fight but he
is overcome by his enemies and shocked into unconsciousness….
He awakens to find himself chained to a nuclear warhead,
Sutton boasting about Prometheus bringing fire to New York….
