Ghost Rider tries to persuade Hulk to abandon his plot of vengeance. Hulk blows him away with a thunderclap. GR responds by dropping a building on Ol’ Greenskin, who reaches up from the ground and pulls Ghost Rider into the subway. When the demon tells Johnny to leave the Hulk alone, Johnny responds with a “Shut up!” that angers the Hulk and he throws Ghost Rider into the sky.
GR manages to wrap his chain around Hulk’s neck and mount his cycle and zooms off. Unfortunately for him, Hulk has tied the chain around a subway train. Hulk drops from a high building and smashes Ghost Rider into the ground.
A watching Dr Strange tells Reed Richards that the Ghost Rider’s powers are unlimited, held in check only by his human host. Now that Johnny is unconscious, though, the demon is out of control. Ghost Rider emits a massive burst of flame, and leaps from the crater aboard his cycle, glares at the Hulk…and leaves. A regretful Strange explains to Reed that Ghost Rider protects only the innocent, “which we—all of us—are not.”
