The Omega Hulk Chapter Eleven

Synopsis

Hulk (2014 series) #15 synopsis by Julio M2
Rating: 4.5 stars

After being knocked through the air by Red Hulk, Green Hulk a/k/a Doc Green has transformed back into Bruce Banner as he plummets from the sky. Desperately he tries to wake Hulk up finally breaking one of his own fingers which does the trick. But Rulk has followed him and their brutal slugging match continues, sending seismic waves throughout the continent, causing the Mole Man to worry and alerting both SHIELD and Steve Rogers in New York (plus Jarvis who tries to keep Avengers Mansion from falling apart). They continue the fight, crashing through a campfire that sets Doc's hair alight and Ross taunts Doc with the knowledge that everything Banner did was a failure but Doc Green bounces back, breaking Red's arm and calling himself the Alpha and the Omega and the strongest one there is! “I am the Hulk!” Doc then injects Red with the antidote and he reverts to his Thunderbolt Ross form. Military police arrive to arrest him for desertion and after they are gone, Doc returns to his Bruce Banner form and sees a message in the sand left for him by his alter ego: “We need to talk.”

One week later, Doc Green arrives in Brooklyn to find a group waiting for him: She-Hulk, Invisible Woman, Thor (Jane Foster), Captain America (Sam Wilson), Iron Man, and Vision, backed up by Maria Hill and a squadron of SHIELD Agents. Jen asks Hulk why he is there. Doc responds, “I'm dying....”

Review / Commentaries

Hulk (2014 series) #15 Review by (September 24, 2019)

Review: The wrap-up to the massive Green versus Red battle is entirely satisfying even though with his Alpha and Omega quote, Doc Green seems to have confused himself with Jesus before going all Hulk again. It was nice that Hulk finally realized he needed to learn how to fight to defeat Red Hulk; one imagines that with his strength he could just smash his way through anything. Not a lot else to say other than the issue was completely satisfying and I'll be sad to see Doc Green and Gerry Duggan go.
