The Omega Hulk Chapter Ten

Synopsis

Hulk (2014 series) #14 synopsis by Julio M2
Rating: 4.5 stars

It's (Doc) Green Hulk versus Red Hulk in the desert as Deadpool watches from a distance, waiting to shoot Red Hulk with a bullet that would cancel his ability to absorb radiation and grow stronger. When the moment arrives, Dpool makes the shot, hitting Rulk in the ear; Doc Green then reveals that Red didn't beat him before (issue #10); Doc allowed him to win so that he could collect data on his foe and devise a way to defeat him. Hulk is hurled through a rock tower which collapses, cutting Deadpool in half at the waist, leaving him prey for vultures and coyotes. A massive brawl continues across the desert surface, as the two Gamma-powered antagonists unleash their might, shaking the ground across the entire country. Doc taunts Ross with a history of his failures, especially concerning Betty, which Ross considers all the result of the Hulk coming into their lives. This enrages Red Hulk so much that the punches Doc Green sending him rocketing through the sky and leaps to hit him in mid-air. Doc Green goes flying through the cloud and on the way, he transforms back into Bruce Banner, who can only see his impending death....

Review / Commentaries

Hulk (2014 series) #14 Review by (September 16, 2019)

Review: Truly epic in all of its parts! Another slugging match between the two Hulks is always a welcome prospect and this issue certainly delivers! Which is a good thing since the fight occupies the entire issue! Okay, enough with the exclamation points: a very well-done episode with the base of the conflict between the two revealed by Ross to have been Bruce Banner/the Hulk destroying any chance Ross and Betty had of living normal lives. Anger is Bruce's deal but the anger unleashed by Ross is unexpected and overwhelming, possibly leading to the death of Bruce Banner on the final page [spoiler: it doesn't]. And for some dark humor to leaven the intense confrontation, there's Deadpool, hoping to die in his own book, and being left for the scavengers; he can be very overbearing but manages to keep it within bounds this time. And there's more to come!

Comments: The Vision has a cameo as one of the people in the USA detecting seismic activity, specifically in New York City.
