Hulk (2014 series) #13

Review: This issue has a number of highlights: Some fun interplay between Doc Green and Deadpool; the latter character always promises to go over the top but he is rather restrained here which is why Doc trusts him to carry out a job. There's Doc's bitter confession to Daman and Randall, showing him in a vulnerable light which is very rare with a Hulk. His face-off with the Leader and the fight with the latter's monster. And the prospect of a lot of action in the next issue. The only bit that didn't work for me was Steve Rogers as a grumpy old man, though I suppose it is justified under the circumstances. Otherwise a very cool issue.

Comments: Steve Rogers lost his super-soldier powers in CAPTAIN AMERICA (2012 series) #21 and regained them in CAPTAIN AMERICA: SAM WILSON #7. The Leader has been red since THUNDERBOLTS Vol. 2 #2. Deadpool doesn't want to become Hulkpool but this has already happened in HULKED OUT HEROES #1-2; maybe he knows from experience. There's a joke reference to Damage Control, Marvel's clean-up company for super-messes.
