Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Incredible Hulk #276 Synopsis by Fabian D'Souza
Beneath the desert surface at gamma base, Bruce Banner is trying desperately to save Rick Jones from gamma poisoning. Rick had previously bombarded himself with gamma rays in the hope of becoming a second Hulk. Bruce manages to cure him with the help of Bereet’s (a techno-artiste from planet Krylor) life support spider. Banner demonstrates his new ability of transforming into the Hulk at will. At this Betty Ross is disappointed as she was hoping that Bruce would want to rid himself of the Hulk forever.

As they discuss the matter upstairs, they’re rudely interrupted by the U-Foes who have returned. They initially clobber Banner who caught in the fray of battle, forgets of his ability to become Hulk at will. Once realizing this, he immediately transforms and smashes Iron Clad- sending him miles away. Then, with his sonic clap he sends Vapor careening on the winds of a man made hurricane. Next, Vector gets his butt whooped. As the battle continues X-ray zaps Hulk with gamma negative rays that reverts him to Banner against his will. Iron Clad and Vapor return and render Banner unconscious.

Elsewhere, protected in an Insula sphere, Bereet suggest that they go and help Banner. Out of her purse she takes five miniature toys that grow to become huge dreadful looking creatures called Defendroids. She says that they shall engage the U-foes giving her, Rick and Betty the time needed to find and free Banner.
