Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Incredible Hulk #55 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
The Absorbing Man is kept locked in a special cell called the plasma containment beam, created by Dr.Zhan. The supervillain cannot absorb it or escape from it. He's been there for a while. But it seems as if the Absorbing Man has conquered a new power, the power to absorb thoughts or control minds, and he's taking control of people who've seen him. It's either that, or another villain is using the Absorbing Man to control people's minds. The super villain is taking his toll on Zhan's team. First, he induced a girl scientist to jump in front of the Metro, causing her instant death. Then, her friend was able to fight and defeat a gang, and the girl was not trained in martial arts. In that case, the Absorbing Man's intervention proved helpful. But he also controled a woman and a man from Zhan's team, into harrasing sexually each other. Meanwhile, Bruce Banner is now in NY, where all of these things are occurring. He meets the woman scientist who died just before the incident, and then, he speaks with her friend, and witnesses how she defeated the gang. Something real bad is going on, but Bruce doesn't have all the details to figure it out. Dr. Zhan may do, and suspects that the Absorbing Man is behind all of it. He grans a gun from his desk and visits the containment cell where the Absorbing Man is imprissioned.
