Invincible Iron Man #151 Review by (September 8, 2015)
Comments: There’s a joke about the “Maytag repairman” from 60s-70s ads: he was the loneliest man in town because Maytag appliances almost never needed repairing.

Review: Nice issue puts the spotlight on Ant-Man Scott Lang, it’s just that there isn‘t much to the story. The art makes up for the weak plot and Scott is funny enough to make it enjoyable if not quite memorable. Moving on….

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Invincible Iron Man #151 Synopsis by T Vernon
Tony Stark surveys his ruined office, burned by Blacklash in #146-147, brooding over the insignificance of his achievements and his love for and loss of Bethany Cabe. He snaps himself out of his self-pity and goes back to work. Calling Ling McPherson he arranges to meet her downtown to go clothes shopping with him….
Meanwhile, security chief Vic Martinelli is making sure workmen stay out of the top secret labs while Stark’s top man, Scott Lang, is assessing the damage inside. When Scott’s back is turned, a drop of caustic liquid burns through into the circuitry and the Graduated Automatic Radical Defense system identifies him as an intruder and seals off the building, releasing poison gas. Scott dons his Ant-Man cybernetic helmet just in time to breathe filtered air. He summons the ants to chew through the door’s wiring allowing him to escape. He shrinks down to ant size and with his insect friends he tries to enter the computer control room guarded by a gauntlet of security features. He squeezes through a cordon of lasers and battles a defense droid to reach the main computer. Wiggling his way inside he dodges dangerous bursts of electricity, with one of his ants sacrificing itself to save him. Finally he locates the malfunctioning circuit and tries to lure the machine into blasting him there….
Outside Martinelli and his staff have been trying to break into the sealed building and finally reach Tony at the men’s shop; he quickly changes into Iron Man and heads to the plant. Arriving, Shellhead blasts open the outer doors to find…a cool Scott Lang, making light of the troubles he’s been dealing with….
Epilogue: Relaxing, Tony opens the newspaper to see a headline about an American spy captured behind the Iron Curtain—Bethany Cabe….
