Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Marvel 1985 #5 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Toby has fallen through the portal into the Marvel Universe in search of the Avengers. Trapster follows and chases Toby but he is hit by a car. Toby jumps into a taxi and asks to go to Avengers Mansion. On arrival he meets Jarvis and explains the situation but the butler refers him to the Fantastic Four for parallel worlds and gives him an honorary Avengers pin, assuming he’s just another fan. Toby heads to the Baxter Building and meets Roberta the automated receptionist. He tries to explain but Roberta asks him to fill out a form and places him on a waiting list. Toby heads to the Daily Bugle and tells Robbie Robertson he is Harry Osborn’s brother and to have Peter Parker meet him on the roof. Peter heads up where Toby reveals he knows Pete is Spider-Man which Peter denies. Then Toby falls off the roof and Spider-Man has to catch him but he finally has someone willing to listen….

Back home, Jerry Goodman heads to his ex-wife Julie’s house which she refuses to leave until Toby gets home. Jerry kicks in the door and they have to avoid Wendigo who is prowling outside. The town is overrun with villains and we see Werewolf (by Night) slaughtering people at the mental hospital while Clyde Wyncham watches television as the Sentinels stalk the streets. Julie has little confidence in Jerry’s ability to do anything but Jerry insists that having read all of the comics, he has an advantage which Julie scoffs at. Then they see pieces of machinery flying through the air and Jerry spies the biggest bad of all time: Galactus is on Earth again….
