Story Name:

Deepest Cuts Pt. 3

Synopsis

Tigra #3 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

Greer “Tigra” Nelson, undercover as police trainee Greer Sorenson, has been invited to join the Brethren of the Blue Fist, a renegade cadre of cops out to murder lawbreakers. Greer pretends she has never heard of them and lets Sgt. Matt McMullen explain the group’s goals. She says she’d be delighted to join then kicks him in the face for setting up the ambush….

Later at the Cave Bar, one of the Brethren’s meeting places, Greer is inducted into the group, given a mask and sworn to the code of silence. Then she is taken on her first mission. Down in the subway she approaches a gangster named Molo and prepares to shoot him but they are interrupted by a band of honest police offers, led by her husband Bill’s former partner Officer Brian Keenan, whom she had called earlier. She worked out with Keenan to fake her escape so she could return to the Fist with no one injured….

As Tigra she returns to the Cave Bar and listens in. The Brethren have decided there must be a mole in their midst. The next big mission is Operation Troika to take down the Russian mob; the advance man with a shipment of merchandise is one Big Red. They will send new recruit Hendrix to kill Big Red to test whether he is the mole. Greer returns to the barracks and is again caught by the suspicious Commander Weising….

That night, Hendrix is sent to Big Red’s apartment to kill him. Greer informs Keenan of the details and intercepts the killer as Tigra. She clobbers Hendrix, breaking his arm and warning him to quit the Brethren and the police force. Then she is attacked by a couple of other Blue Fists who fire on her; she dodges easily (and Hendrix doesn’t) and fights them off. The police arrive and chase the fleeing Blue Fist boys and some are caught….

The next day McMullin reports to the Chief that the captured officers are following the code of silence so Operation Troika is still on….

Three Russian drug lords are coming in aboard a tanker. Brethren have already wired the tanker to blow but they intend to shoot as many of the ship’s occupants as they can before they abandon the ship. But Tigra intercepts them, fights with the Blue Fists on the deck until the gangsters hear the commotion and open fire on the cops. The tanker is blown up, Tigra swims to safety….

The next day, a police chief commends Greer for helping them break the Brethren of the Blue Fist. As she leaves, she is spotted by Mat McMullin and makes an excuse. He takes her to a private place and tells her he is the last core member of the Blue Fist still free and he wants her to do a favor: kill Tigra….
