Synopsis

Web of Black Widow #4 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

Black Widow, on a rooftop with an arrow in her side, reflects on the events that got her to this place….

She spent the night sleeping on Matt Murdock’s couch, insisting she’s fine and that she doesn’t need any help….

One hour ago on a roof, she was intercepted by Hawkeye who has been entrusted to bring her in; another target on her hit list, Alla Zolotov, whose grandmother was a former client of the Red Room, is in town. Natasha tries to convince him that someone is impersonating her and killing crooked business types she only wanted to expose. Hawkeye doesn’t believe her and there is a scuffle, ending with Nat shocking Clint into insensibility. She mounts to another rooftop with a sniper rifle, searching for her double, intending to kill her to save the Zolotov. Nat gets her in her sights—and Hawkeye shoots her in the side with an arrow. She flees but Hawkeye catches up with her and corners her. Then Hawkeye is shot and she takes a bullet to the leg. The duplicate Black Widow is there and she reveals herself to be Anya, daughter of the former Red Room Headmistress as she prepares to kill Natasha….

Web of Black Widow #4 Review by (June 8, 2020)

Review: See issue #1 for review.

Comments: Matt Murdock’s apartment closely resembles the one in the Netflix DAREDEVIL series. Natasha and Hawkeye’s relationship goes back to his first appearance in TALES OF SUSPENSE #57. Anya, new Headmistress and daughter of the Red Room Headmistress, was introduced in a flashback in BLACK WIDOW (2016 series) #3 and for real in #4-12.
