Loki, Norse god of evil, is searching for a powerful being he can trick into fighting Thor. After considering the Hulk, the Thing and Hercules, he spies the Silver Surfer and knows he's found his dupe.

Loki convinces the Surfer that Thor is secretly evil, plotting to conquer Asgard and then Earth. So the Surfer volunteers to stop Thor. Entering Asgard by Loki's power, the Surfer battles Thor but soon comes to realize that Thor is not evil and that he has been tricked by Loki.

When the Silver Surfer refuses to fight any longer, an enraged Loki sends him back to Earth.
