Synopsis
Realizing the Falcon is hiding something from him but unwilling to make an issue of it, Captain America takes leave of his partner. Falcon, hoping for another crack at Spider-Man, is attacked by Stone Face’s hoods; he beats them but is hit by the ganglord’s car and knocked unconscious. The crooks load him in their car and drive off. Peter Parker checks to see if Harry is all right and heads off as Spidey to locate the Falcon by means of the Spider-Tracer planted on him. Meanwhile, Steve is interrupted in his brooding about Sharon by Sam’s nephew Jody, come to warn them about Stone Face’s release on bail and desire for revenge. When Redwing arrives seeking Cap, Steve follows the bird into a heavy rainstorm, which delays his search. At the same time, Spidey has located the Falcon in Stone Face’s limo and follows the group to the ganglord’s hideout. There, Stone Face meets with a representative of the Governor and demands a huge bribe not to interfere with the construction of a planned State office building in the neighborhood. Spider-Man sneaks in and carries off the bound Falcon; when Falcon is released however, he tries to capture Spidey and ends up webbed to a bridge. Cap arrives on the scene and takes on Spidey but the three heroes quickly get things sorted out and head back to Stone Face’s lair. Spider-Man swings through and rescues the Governor’s aide while Cap and the Falcon subdue the gangsters. Outside minutes later, a mysterious figure in a car asks Captain America to accompany him. Cap makes his apologies to his partner and goes off, leaving the Falcon worried about him.
