Captain America: Symbol of Truth (2022 series) #9

In Mohannda, word has come White Wolf’s government has bombed the hospital. Dr. Ayanda Sisulu, leader of the resistance, and Bathabile want to hurry to the rescue but Nomad warns them it may be a trap. Captain America (Sam Wilson) says that if it is, they will fight while aiding in the rescue efforts….

From his office, White Wolf reveals that the attack is a trap to catch Cap and Nomad. He then orders the portals opened, waning Cap dead or alive….

At the bombing site, Cap, Nomad, and the resistance begin pulling people from the rubble while protecting others from falling debris. Then a portal opens, discharging huge red-skinned armored warriors. Nomad recognizes them as the Phrox from Dimension Z. Sisulu assumes that the White Wolf has some sort of transmitter to open the portals and Tilda (Nightshade) Johnson says that if they can find such a transmitter, she can shut it down; there’s a stronger signal coming from the Parliament building so Sisulu orders her people there. Cap, meanwhile, has discovered that the Phrox are after him alone, so he flies off, leading them away from the disaster site, calling on a flock of birds to herd the aliens after him and dodging missiles. Cap finds the transmitter in the sky and destroys it; the portals close but the Phrox are still there (and in pain). And then the mutated Falcon arrives, wanting Sam’s blood for his betrayal….
