Rating:
Clint Barton leaves a voicemail for Bobbi Morse asking her how to spell 'incorrigible" because he doesn't have Internet to look it up. Then he gets a page from the Avengers to come out to play as Hawkeye. Next we see him, Black Widow and Spider-Woman nursing their wounds. Jessica Drew isn't talking to him. Mockingbird enters with a call for him from Kate Bishop to tell him Grills has been found murdered (at the end of #9). He rushes back to the apartment block and is consoled by Kate. But he believes his friend was killed by the Tracksuit Draculas to get back at *him*.
Later he's asleep when he gets a call from his brother Barney Barton (#11) asking for money. Clint agrees to meet him 9:00 the next day. Then 2 cops come to ask him some questions. He admits to being the 'owner and superintendent' of the building, and they know he's Hawkeye and he was paged by them. The only corroboration he has for what he was doing before that is his phone call to his ex-wife.
Some time after that he goes to Far Rockaway to offer his commiserations to Grills' dad (from #7).
Then it's the day of the funeral and Kate makes sure Clint looks presentable. In the car to the funeral she tries to repair their partnership. She's here for him now as she knows he would be here for *her*. They both make each other a better person. But Clint has fallen asleep and dreams of dead Grills and his father's flooded basement (from #7). Grills' dad and many from the apartment block attend the funeral. So in the background do some Tracksuit Draculas and their boss. Meanwhile some other TDs meet Kaz/Clown on the roof of the block (as seen in #11). When Clint gets home he sees a sneaker on the pavement (explained in #11).
Inside he gets another call from Barney who thought Clint meant 9:00 this *morning*. (See last issue for his adventures then.) Clint and Lucky the Pizza Dog go outside to wait for him, and we get the reunion from the end of last issue.
Barney is sitting on the loo when we hear the conversation from the end of #11 where Kate quits the Hawkeye partnership and heads for Los Angeles with Lucky.
Later the block hold a wake for Grills on the roof. His dad takes over his usual job of manning the barbecue. Clint introduces Barney to them, and they welcome him to the 'family'.
