Pizza is my business

Synopsis

Hawkeye #11 synopsis by Rob Johnson
Rating: 4 stars
This issue is told from the POV of Lucky the Pizza Dog, and so only certain words of human conversations register. It covers parts of last issue and several following ones we haven't seen yet.

It begins with a replay of an event from last issue as Lucky hears the argument between Clint Barton and Kate Bishop and slinks off. He passes loads of other apartment doors, identifying the occupants by smells and sounds but noting that Grills isn't there. He hears another dog barking and meets a puppy we saw on the roof with Grills last issue. The puppy leads Lucky up to the roof where they find Grills shot dead. Lucky detects by smell that Grills was having a barbecue and then some drinks with Clint. And then a stranger shot him and exited down the fire escape before driving off.

Now we're in #12. Lucky heads to the apartment's garbage bins and scoffs some discarded pizza. He see some of his old masters the Tracksuit Draculas beating up a vagrant. He tries to warn them off, detecting a similarity between Clint and the hobo. But they recognise him as the dog they abused so he slinks away.

The next scenes are from #13 as Lucky watches cops interview Barton about the death of Grills. And then Clint and Kate leave for Grills' funeral. While they're away Lucky and the puppy have a good time. But Lucky detects 2 TDs (his abusers) climbing the fire escape and follows them to the roof where they have a meeting with the assassin. He bites the assassin's wrist and 1 Dracula's leg and then plunges off the roof with the other 1. But they seemingly survive except the TD loses a sneaker. Next the assassin and the TDs are being bandaged up by 1 of the neighbours, with Lucky and puppy in attendance. But Lucky senses his current master returning and races off to meet him outside where they find the missing shoe.

Then from #14 Kate quits the Hawkeye partnership and heads for Los Angeles, taking Lucky with her.

Hawkeye #11 Review by (July 23, 2022)
Next issue we'll learn that the vagrant was Clint Barton's brother Barney.

And still no-one's actually called the Clown by that name (but then Lucky probably wouldn't have recognised the word).
