Synopsis

Iron Man: Rapture (2010 series) #2 synopsis by reviewer T Vernon
Rating: 3.5 stars

Worried by the silence, Rhodey goes down to Tony’s lab to find Steve dead and Tony missing. Pepper receives a call from Jake in Security, telling her that Stark has ordered everything to go through retinal scanners. Then she encounters a huge artificial Tony in a larger Iron Man armor. It tells her it is not Tony but something better. Pepper warns Rhodey; soon Rhodey is trapped in an elevator and the building goes into lockdown. The AI announces to the staff that they will soon be going somewhere else, being liberated from “the meat.” The AI goes looking for Rhodey in the elevator but he has already escaped. Pepper and Dr. Serrano discover all of the staff unresponsive, their minds transferred into a virtual land called StarkWorld. The real Tony is behind the AI, chained to a rock, his virtual liver being eaten by a mechanical vulture….

Comments: Story set in Earth-11011. Nick Fury is mentioned twice, the only Marvel character named outside of the miniseries’ cast. The Prometheus reference will become more prominent in issue #4.

Review: See issue #1 for full review.
