At SHIELD headquarters, Alexander Pierce springs his plot to
assassinate the World Council but Councilwoman Hawley takes him down before revealing
she is the Black Widow in disguise….
General Thunderbolt Ross goes to the real Councilwoman
Hawley, wanting the Council’s help in finding Black Widow. Hawley considers her
a hero but Ross denies that she works for them. Hawley points out that the
Widow was certainly working for him during the superhero Civil War, wherein she
fought Hawkeye, a longtime friend and ally. Ross suspects her of helping
Captain America escape but Hawley demands proof, so Ross gives her the full
info….
Natasha Romanova, the Black Widow, was the star pupil of the
Russian Red Room where she rose quickly in the ranks up to her tragic “ceremony”
where she had a tubal ligation, preventing her from ever having children. Soon
after, she defected to America and joined SHIELD, though no one really knows
why. An early assignment went wrong when she was caught by the Winter Soldier
and shot. After that, she was assigned to monitor Tony Stark. Using the alias
Natalie Rushman from Stark’s legal department, she surprised Stark and Pepper
Potts by easily clobbering Happy Hogan in a friendly boxing match. Things soon
went off the rails….
