Silver Sable and her Wild Pack have
been hired by a mystery client to capture the terrorist Viper for
him. The problem is, there are many impostors out there to confuse
the issue, the villainess' Pit-Vipers. The story starts with Silver
and half of the Wild Pack in Rome battling one Viper who turns out to
be a fake, and the other half of the team fighting another false
Viper in Kentucky. News of this comes to Captain America at Avengers
HQ and he realizes that something very bad is likely behind this and
races to get to Viper first....
Meanwhile, the real Viper is working on
a project to blind television viewers across the world through a
secret broadcast station....
Elsewhere, Silver is abandoned by her
lover, Jacques, who has a secret mission of his own....
Else-elsewhere, Baron Strucker vows
revenge against Silver Sable for his defeat in issue #12, as well as
her teammate Crippler....
Later, Crippler is undercover as a
mobster in the Bronx to investigate another Viper sighting. This time
Captain America bursts in and Cap and Crippler battle over who gets
to capture this fake Viper. Cap wins and escorts his prisoner
out...where she is gunned down by a sniper. Cap and Cripp take on the
real Viper's goons and then Silver Sable and her Wild Pack arrive on
the scene for a full-scale melee. Silver nabs Viper and Cap reveals
who Silver's mystery client is—the Red Skull....

Synopsis: Silver Sable recalls her
growing attraction to the mercenary Basil, called the Foreigner; this
relationship leads to marriage and their becoming allies in their
missions. Eventually, Basil's secretive nature comes between them,
and they split up. Later, Silver is hired as a bodyguard for US
President Jimmy Carter and she prevents an assassination attempt. She
heads out in search of the shooter and we learn that he is Basil in
disguise....
