Hulk is attacked by the New York Police Department, but they are definitely out of their league. Suddenly, a truck from Stark International delivers a gigantic robot to level the score. A tall golden robot called the Quintronic Man exits the vehicle. Driven by five men, this prototype for interstellar exploration will try containing the menace known as the Hulk!

The fantastic robot has the upper hand, but Hulk gets tougher and tougher. So, they use gas to put him to sleep. After locking him in the truck, the police grabs Jim Wilson for questioning.

As they ride the streets of Manhattan, as if it were a parade, Jim grabs the steering wheel and causes an accident. The crash fractures the truck, releasing the somna-gas. Hulk wakes up and attacks the Quintronic Man.

Unable to outfight the green goliath, they try using gas again. But, this time, Hulk covers the aperture with a piece of pavement. Gas backfires, filling all command rooms, putting the five men to sleep. Out of control, the giant robot stumbles back and crashes into a building, which falls on top of it.

Victorious, Hulk grabs Jim and leaps away.

At that moment, the Jack of Hearts, a new superhero (1st appearance in Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu #22), shows up. He heard about the Hulk's confrontation after defeating some criminals. He promises to hunt down the Hulk after aiding the men in the wasted robot.

Meanwhile, in Gamma Base, Doc Samson finds the mysterious man that came out from the desert (in Hulk #208) in one lab. The man doesn't understand why the equipment seems familiar to him. Samson will use his psychiatrist's skills to learn about this mysterious visitor.

In New York, someone has entered the building ran by April Sommers, where Bruce Banner is renting an apartment.

And somewhere in the skies, Thunderbolt Ross and Clay Quartermain meet with SHIELD's Sydney Levine in the Heli-Carrier, brought as consultants to investigate a large capsule that was found in the ocean emitting gamma radiation.
