whipped up doing nothing to push him back. She attempts to fly above him, but
he manipulates reality once more, causing the ground to hit her like a tidal

Proteus twists the city of Edinburgh to his will. The city warps, everything
changing and going topsy-turvy, while the X-Men do their best to keep civilians

Script: Chris ClaremontA few days after their battle with Proteus, the X-Men
finally head home from Scotland. Banshee decides to stay with Moira MacTaggert,
officially leaving the team, both to care for Moira and due to feeling like
he’s no use without his powers. [...]

Script: Chris ClaremontAfter Cerebro detected two new mutants last issue,
half the team went to Chicago leaving the rest to check out the New York-based
mutant. [...]
March 1980"Run For Your Life!"
Script: Chris ClaremontAfter being on the run from the Hellfire Club all
night, we find Kitty Pryde running down a Chicago back-alley, a car hot on her
heels. Just before it can reach her, Phoenix pops up out of nowhere and utterly
demolishes the car, scaring Kitty just as much as her pursuers. [...]

home, the X-Men visit Angel at his unique home in New Mexico. He welcomes them
and introduces them to his girlfriend, Candy Southern. [...]

sewers, the Hellfire Club send their henchmen to scour the sub-basements to

earth, Lilandra holds an emergency meeting with her council. They summarize her
terrible deeds from last issue and ultimately decide that Phoenix must be

practice Angel messes up and slams into Nightcrawler, stunning him. Wolverine
and Storm rescue Kurt before the Danger Room session shuts down, and Wolverine
applauds the decision to make Storm the new team leader. [...]

fields behind the Xavier mansion. Angel comes to check on him and Colossus
admits that he enjoys the work and that it helps him to keep perspective on

now named Kate Pryde, makes her way through a desolate and run-down New York.
