Having learned that Loki was behind his mysterious shooting last issue, Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, who is now "the man on the wall," invades Asgardia in deep space to hunt down the villain. And it is old Evil Loki, not the charming young one, who he is about to confront. The God of Mischief leads him through a Wonderland of madness, set to a fractured rhyme scheme, setting the Frozen Wolves of Niffleheim on him then dragging him out to the wasteland to fight a Frost Giant. Bucky almost falls off the page but he pulls himself back as the giant dissolves into a swarm of bees….
Meanwhile board the ship Archeopterix, Daisy Johnson, running an analysis on the bullet, is visited by a monochrome older Bucky….
Back in Loki’s mindscape, Bucky faces his doppelgangers as they suddenly transform into scarecrows on a bright pink plain. The wolves return but Bucky manages to turn the tables on his foe and stab Loki with a knife. Loki merely introduces a pair of wolf pups as Kyle and Steve, the true guardians of Lower Asgard. Loki then refers him to the planet Mer-Z-Bow and its Princess Ventolin leaves our bewildered hero with "the lost glove is happy"….
Back aboard the Archeopterix, Bucky relates his adventure. The bullet he was shot with last time turns out to have been made of Illum, the only source of which Mer-Z-Bow….
