Captain America #608 Review by (August 7, 2010)
Comments: A No-Prize to anyone who can figure out where Natasha was keeping her Black Widow costume under that light and casual outfit she was wearing. Rikki Barnes was introduced in CAPTAIN AMERICA Vol. 2 #1 and came to our world during ONSLAUGHT REBORN. She became Nomad in the Nomad: Girl Without a World minseries.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Captain America #608 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Attacked by a new, female Beetle, Bucky Barnes and Natasha Romanova quickly change into their Captain America and Black Widow costumes. After a long involved battle the villainess is subdued and captured. The next day, at the Raft, Thunderbolts director Luke Cage gives the okay for them to question her. Cap and the Widow talk to the new Beetle and she startles them by calling Cap "Bucky" and revealing she knows his true identity. (Elsewhere in the installation, Thunderbolts member the Fixer reports these development to Baron Zemo, who is not worried since the next part of his plan of revenge against Bucky/Cap is already in motion.) Realizing further questioning is useless, Bucky and Natasha leave but he now knows this scheme is directed toward him, not Captain America. As they walk through the night they speculate on the identity of the mysterious foe and Natasha realizes all clues point to Baron Zemo. Suddenly they are spied by reporters who question Cap whether he is really Bucky Barnes…and the Winter Soldier. The media is reporting that Captain America’s identity was leaked as James "Bucky" Barnes, which also provided proof that he was once the Soviet assassin codenamed Winter Soldier…and whether a proven enemy of the US should be wearing its colors. At the hospital the wounded Falcon leaves his sickbed, telling Steve Rogers they have to get to Bucky before he makes it all worse….

At a diner Rikki confides in Steve that she is still in a state of confusion over her presence in this reality. She still blames herself for her brother’s death; Steve tries to comfort her by telling her it wasn’t her fault. When she wants to know how he knows so much about her world, Steve reveals that he was the Captain America who saved her from the Red Skull and trained her to be his partner. She hugs him, having finally found a friend from back home. He tells her she doesn’t have to be Nomad anymore....
